Lumecca
Lumecca
Lumecca, an IPL treatment from InMode, represents a significant advancement in intense pulsed light (IPL) technology, as it can deliver up to three times more energy compared to traditional IPL devices in the 500-600nm range. This increased energy output allows for improved effectiveness in treating vascular and pigmented lesions. Lumecca has been optimised for clinicians, enabling us to treat a wider range of lesions in fewer sessions. Furthermore, it has been reported that patients have experienced significant improvement in skin health and clarity after just the one session.
The Treatment
It works by delivering intense pulses of light to the skin, which penetrate the tissue and are absorbed by the target chromophores, such as melanin or hemoglobin. This absorption converts the light energy into heat, which damages the targeted cells and triggers the body's natural healing response. Over time, this process leads to the removal of pigmented or vascular lesions and the stimulation of collagen production, resulting in improved skin texture and tone.

Am I a good candidate for Lumecca?
If you have pigmented or vascular lesions you wish to treat, Lumecca may be an ideal solution. However, prior to treatment, a test patch is necessary to ensure the best outcome. A consultation with one of our Aesthetiqué Medical practitioners can help determine whether Lumecca is the right treatment for you.
What can I expect during the treatment and how long does it take to complete?
Prior to the treatment, your Aesthetiqué Medical pracitioner will give you protective goggles. During the treatment, you will feel a warm sensation similar to a light snap of an elastic band. The duration of Lumecca treatments varies from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
What is the downtime?
The treatment has little down time however this will be determined by the density of the pigment or vessels. It is likely for you to experience redness, warmth, and a sunburn-like feeling which can last up to 24 hours. Also, micro-crusting post pigment treatment can last up to 1-2 weeks. Whilst you are going through the shedding process, it is important not to pick at the crusting or scratch the area and allow it to organically shed on its own. This will prevent potential scarring or hyperpigmentation.
What is the aftercare post Lumecca?
Aftercare for Lumecca treatment involves:
- Avoiding direct sunlight and wearing sunscreen
- Keeping the treated area clean and moisturised
- Avoiding any harsh skincare products or treatments for a few days.
- Avoid picking scabs and allow them to fall off organically
It is recommended to follow the specific aftercare instructions provided.
